The weather continues to warm, and we have begun to see the evidence in more than just our sweat. We saw three snakes today, one of which we thought might be venomous (I just did some checking and now believe it to be a small ringneck snake, which is slightly venomous but rarely dangerous to humans). The other snakes I believe were harmless, but the bugs seem to be getting more vicious. Mostly, however, we’re just glad not to be seeing so much ice!
The biggest excitement of the day was when we figured out our mileage at the end of the day and it came in at 22.6 miles, our first day over 20 miles and also our first day that we did over 1% of the entire trail.
